The rhythm section is really letting those drums have it! I love this album’s execution and tight performances. I’m not surprised to see Kamasi Washington on here because this seems to carry the same spirit, but I like this execution much more.
Favorite track: Shrill Tones.
This is the conscious funk fusion jazz album that everyone has to own. You’re going to get a shot of the heart of Roy Ayers swirled with the greatest working musicians in the world right now and so much more intergalactic explosive music that your soul will thank you! Get it!

Ghost-Note’s sound has evolved to a state that can best be described as ‘conscious funk’ – an elaborate and sonically powerful surge of the tremendous talents that each of the players provides, with the bandleaders leaning back and letting the band go. The core lineup is a rotating cast of serious cats - all stretching to meet the expanding nature of the band.

Remembrance - wow... each part. Utterly, utterly perfect. Inspiring drums...
Strings Of Light pulls you in from the start, letting you know you're in for a great trip.
Joint 17 is another great track, smooth and funky and exploring around the edges of the groove.
Black Focus is a great opener and Yo Chavez is really nice.
Lowrider... mmm, the theme is bit retro for me, which is fitting - and brilliant playing, of course.
